New Forest Together is inviting residents from across the Fordingbridge area to attend a public community roadshow on Thursday 16 July, where they can find out more about proposed changes to local government and ask questions about what they could mean for the future of the New Forest.

The meeting, which has been rescheduled because of the recent hot weather, will take place at Fordingbridge Town Hall, 63 High Street, Fordingbridge, SP6 1AS, starting at 7.00pm.

The event forms part of New Forest Together’s series of community roadshows being held across the district under the theme “One District, One Voice, Our Future”.

According to the campaign, the Government’s Local Government Reorganisation proposals could see parts of the New Forest separated from the district and placed within neighbouring authorities.

The roadshow aims to explain the latest developments and give local people the opportunity to ask questions and take part in the discussion.

During the evening, attendees will hear updates on:
The latest legal developments.
Hampshire County Council’s position.
New Forest District Council’s position.
Advice from New Forest Together’s independent legal team.
The proposed timetable and what happens next.
Opportunities to revisit decisions.

How local people can get involved:
The event is open to residents from Fordingbridge and surrounding communities, including Sandleheath, Damerham, Rockbourne and Hyde.
